Yo-yo-ing

Yo-yo-ing

I

Time — the yo-yo

Deepens the

Slip —

a slope

Bleeds and recedes

The roll, for patrol

A haze —

Trek or lay?

I — stay

To fall

The horizon

To the wind

Distraught and brought

In a midst

The temp-est —

Oh God —

I’m yo-yo-ing

II

The trench —

A mush of swamp

That bathed me

Betrayed

Who stayed

I — the dawn

The sun spun

Sickle

Harvest — the largest

Frog out —

After trussed

Slip — unsliped

And sliced to slice once more;

The spotlight rose at dawn — blinding sweat —

As the tide subsided

Pulling — grabbing — dragging

String cut —

With myself

To be without
