Lavender Fires

The adder

Coiled its way

Through your mouth to my brain

And once the poison strides

You’ll say I’m

Defined by anger

Raptured by madness

In love with my sadness

High on a fantasy

I’d call your poison

But years and years

Of formative years

Spent with fears

Left scars

On Lavender Fields

Seeking solace

30 minutes

26 seconds

The time to burn

What’s already scarred

After

The solace shattered

Shards pierced knees

As I fell to them

As the floor slipped

In falling

Comes recognition

The words not warm reassurance

The words cold midnights

Of whispers billowing

In the air where I fall

The whirlwind of black whispers

The whispers you called an angel’s embrace

And I, intoxicated, believed you

But still I rise

A Lavender Warrior fueled by Lavender Fires

Forever radicalized
